Our house is at least 500 years old, and used to be part of a monastery. It is situated beoynd the Coccia valley in the outskirts of the picturesque village of Vico Pancellorum. The property, with the sunny terrace and the magnificent views is the perfect base for a relaxing and exciting holiday in Tuscany.
The house is situated on a calm road in the outskirts of the village Vico Pancellorum. On the opposite side of the road you find a garden a olive grove and a large and inviting terrace with spectacular views. Here you can enjoy lazy hours under the Tuscan sun. The evenings at the supper table tend to last till late, with candles, flares and glasses filled with the Italian wine of choice. All is accompanied by the singing sirisses and the intoxicating sound of the little water fall in the valley below.
The house is built in a classical Italian style, and has four floors. It is attractively decorated in a traditional rustic style. The Tuscan ceilings with characteristic beams as central features and the original floors give the house a genuine character.
Ground floor: Small hallway with an original stone staircase leading up to the 1st floor. Well-equipped kitchen with a large fireplace, wood and gas stoves and a dining area seating 4-6 people. Tiled bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine.
1st floor: Comfortable living room with dining area for 8-10 people. Comfortable sofa area. Small hallway with stairs leading up to 2nd floor.
2nd floor: Large bedroom with one queen size bed and one single bed. Small and classic balcony where the view of the village, the woods and the hills can be enjoyed. Small hallway with a steep stairway leading up to 3rd floor.
3rd floor. Spacious bedroom containing one queen size bed and one single bed. Smaller bedroom with one small queen size bed.
What a wonderful place you've got! We have been fully enjoying two wonderful weeks, and would love to come back! Anders with family and friends.
This turned out even better than expected. It was difficult to imagine the place in advance, and the positive surprise made this an extra ordinary successful vacation. We felt at home immediately, and we have diligently used the house and the terrace. Please forward our grattitude to Luisa for great food and service! We planned on merely sleeping in the house, but ended up staying "home" several days. Relaxing on the terrace provided us with the right holiday feeling, and it was wonderful and different to cool down in the river while listening to the sound of the running water and the gentle breeze moving the leaves of the trees. I'd say we've become true enthusiasts about taking baths in rivers! And the food, wine air and the people.. Overall we have had an amazing holiday! Mette and Torfinn, Kjellaug and Amund + 3 children.
The fact that the property is situated somewhat off the tourist trails made it perfect. We concluded it was wonderful to visit the wonders of Tuscany, and even better to return to Vico. The terrace's steep surroundings were eaily ”fixed” by using the portable net you mentioned. We will never forget the evenings in the restaurant and on the terrace. We let candles and stayed out till way too late. Hedda with family and friends with family.
What a prime destination for a winter holiday. We went skiing one day, and watched Fiorentina at Campo Marte in Florence in T-shirts the next. Excellent skiing conditions in Abetone, and almost spring in the lower areas.
